　今日は須磨の海岸まで、作詞する際の取材というかネタ探しに行ってきました。JR須磨を降りるとそこはもう砂浜。（どこかで聞いたことある前ふりだと思ったらユニバーサルの「駅を降りればそこはハリウッド」だ）海の家が見え、海岸がもうすぐ目と鼻の先にあります。そして海の家を突っ切るまでに必ずサーファー風のお兄さん達に「着替えはどうされますか？是非うちの海の家をご利用ください」と声かけられます。泳ぐ気はないので無言で突っ切るとそこは砂浜の海岸。駅とそれより北の町の風景とはまったく別世界の空間がそこに待っています。男は上半身裸にバミューダ。女は今年の流行なのかビキニを着たギャルが所狭しと砂の上に寝そべっています。僕は泳ぎませんが、その中のおんなじ空間に溶け合うために、その砂浜の中を端から端まで練り歩きました。しかし女性のビキニ。下着ならスカートがめくれて見えたら恥ずかしいのに、水着ならパンツ以上に大胆なものを着る心理。僕にはいまだにわかりません。しかしそうして女に夏の砂浜を盛り上げてくれようとする意志が多少ともあるのなら、男もそれに感謝して女を大事にせねばなりません。しかし冒頭で作詞を作るための取材にといいましたが、いきなりそのフレーズが思い浮かぶわけでもありません。発酵し、熟成したものを後で思い浮かべて、想像力を働かすのです。それ故に実際の体験はたいしたことがなくても、後で思い浮かべて空想を働かしているときのほうが、現実以上に楽しいことかもしれません。言わばこれが物書きの醍醐味でしょう。だから現実が今一つ物足りないようなものなら、その反省を込めて今度は今まで以上な現実に遭遇するよう願いを込めて書きます。その現実と空想のギャップが大きいものをフィクション。その差が小さいものをノンフィクションと称するのでしょう。そして三宮の喫茶店で作詞の元となるおおまかな骨子は出来上がりました。しかしまだそれを削ったり、付け加えたりして作り上げます。しかし夏というのは燃える恋。そんな歌が幾千百とあることでしょう。それらに匹敵するような歌をこさえるというのは至難の業です。しかしそれをやり遂げなければプロの作詞家にはなれないのでしょう。
この夏の間に何とか一曲作り上げます。そう公約します。
